Madalena DePina Guevara, 60, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. She is the beloved wife of Jorge Guevara with whom she shared 35 years of life and love together.
Madalena was born on May 11, 1961 in Brava, Cape Verde Island and is the daughter of Oliveiro DePina of New Bedford, MA and the late Eugenia (Fernandes) DePina.
For 17 years, she was employed as grounds monitor at Tewksbury Hospital in Massachusetts.
In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, especially for family gatherings, gardening in her yard and tending to her delicious vegetable and beautiful floral garden. Madalena loved to sing and dance and had a talented eye for interior design. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her caring and compassionate nature. She was always willing to help when someone was in need. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jorge, and her father Oliveiro, she is survived by her three children, Germaina Bruce and her husband Derek of Lowell, Matthew DaRosa of Nashua, and Jalen Guevara of Nashua, her seven grandchildren, Mally, Desmond, Marquis, Greyson, Jaden, Jordan, and Gavin. She is also survived by her nine siblings, Maria Rebeiro, Eugenio DePina, Margarida DePina, Ecilda DePina, Oliveiro DePina, Olavo Dalomba, Manuel DePina, Julia DeBarros, and Eduardo DePina as well as their families and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Madalena was predeceased by her mother, Eugenia and her brother Amancio DePina.
Relatives and friends are invited to Madalena's visitation on MONDAY, April 18th from 5 until 8 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on TUESDAY, April 19th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
