2:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Paul J. Lavigne, 70, died peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack on Friday, October 9, 2026 surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He is the beloved husband of Mary Dowling-McMahon with whom he shared 10 years of marriage and 19 years together.
Paul was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on May 24, 1956, and is the son of Conrad Lavigne of Rockport, MA and the late Janet (Laquerre) Soucy. He was a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School with the class of 1975.
For over 30 years, Paul was a dedicated employee of Walmart, where he worked at various store locations and held numerous positions throughout his career.
In his free time, Paul had a true passion for skiing. An expert skier, he was happiest on the slopes, especially at two of his favorite destinations, Wildcat Mountain and Tuckerman Ravine. He was also an avid bowler, enjoying both ten-pin and candlepin bowling, and was a proud member of numerous leagues at Leda Lanes in Nashua. Paul enjoyed hunting and had a deep appreciation for music, particularly The Beatles. A devoted sports fan, he faithfully cheered on his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was also a proud member of the Nashua Elks Lodge #720. One of Paul's most meaningful personal accomplishments was recently becoming a friend of Bill W., a journey of which he was incredibly proud. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, whom he loved deeply. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Mary and his father, Conrad, he is survived by his son, Matthew Lavigne of The Villages in Florida; and his step-children, Anthony Dowling of Nashua, and Maggie McMahon of Nashua; his four grandchildren, Tyla, Connor, Ryhan, and Carver; as well as his siblings, Peter Lavigne and his wife Michelle of Marstons Mills, MA and Luke Lavigne of Nashua. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Eric Lavigne and his wife Meghan, Renee Lavigne, Chase Lavigne and his fiancé Brittni Ekholm, and Brett Lavigne and his wife Sarah.
Sadly, in addition to his mother, Janet, he was predeceased by his daughter Michelle Kelley and step-mother, Jo-Ann Lavigne.
Relatives and friends are invited to Paul’s visitation on SUNDAY, October 25th from 2 until 4 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME ANE CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His interment will take place at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s name to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
