Obituary

Richard Charles Marquis, 90, a life-long resident of Nashua, died peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Lynnette (Fleury) Marquis with whom he shared 44 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2002.

Richard was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on December 14, 1935 and was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Dayo) Marquis. He received his education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air National Guard during the Cuban Missle Crisis War until he was honorably discharged on June 12, 1960.

Richard dedicated 28 years of his life to Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack, where he worked in the brew hall. He took great pride in his work and was known for his unwavering dedication, exceptional work ethic, and commitment to doing every job to the best of his ability. Never one to shy away from hard work, Richard often worked seven days a week when needed, earning the respect of his colleagues through his reliability and determination. His years of service reflected not only his devotion to his profession but also the pride he found in providing for his family until his well-earned retirement.

In his free time, Richard had a passion for golf, whether he was out on the course or watching a tournament from home. The game brought him immense joy, and he was proud to be a member of the Bud Golf Team, where he enjoyed both the camaraderie and competition. A devoted sports fan, Richard faithfully cheered on his favorite teams, including the Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and Boston Bruins. He treasured the many memories he shared with his beloved late wife, Lynnette, especially their unforgettable trip to Hawaii together, which remained one of his fondest experiences. Above all else, Richard's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. His love, kindness, and unwavering devotion will be forever cherished by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his three sons, Scott Marquis of Nashua, Steven Marquis and his wife Rosanne of Hudson, and James Marquis of Nashua; his five grandchildren, Steven Marquis Jr. and his wife Ashley, Dylan Marquis and his fiancé Allie Keenan, Jonathan Mosteiro and his wife Lisa, Jennifer Mosteiro and Kevin Heenan and his wife Anna. He is also survived by his ten great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Kenneth Marquis and his wife Carol of Seguin, TX and Robert Marquis of Merrimack; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to his wife, Lynnette and his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Caroline McCann and her husband Michael, his brother, Claude "Sunny" Dean Sr., and his sister-in-law, Yvette Marquis.
