Roger E. Jette, 88, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026.
Born on January 15, 1938, in Hudson, New Hampshire, Roger lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, service, and devotion to his family. He later made his home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where he enjoyed the beauty of the Maine coast and the community he cherished.
Roger proudly served in the United States Army Reserve, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty and patriotism. Following his military service, he became a respected self-employed precision machinist and owner of Jet-Co Precision Machining. Through his skill, craftsmanship, and unwavering work ethic, Roger built a successful business and earned the admiration of colleagues, customers, and friends alike.
Above all, Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Julie Loretta Jette, and together built a life centered on family, love, and enduring values.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Loretta Jette; his daughters, Margaret "Peggy" McFarland, Kathleen "Kathie" Jette, and Angela Dickman along with her husband Gregg Dickman; and his cherished grandchildren, Cole McFarland and his wife Holly McFarland, Jared McFarland and his wife Nicole McFarland, Graham McFarland, Dustin Chapman, Ryan Twardosky, Chelsea Dickman, and Torrey Dickman.
He is also survived by his siblings, Edmond Jette, Pauline Donohue, Lorraine Briand and her husband Donald, Andre Jette and his wife Cheryl, Rene Jette and his wife Sheila, Gerard Jette and his wife Sandra, and Michelle Deschene and her husband Donald, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, Edmond L. Jette and Rose M. (nee Boissonnault) Jette brother, Louis Jette, and his sister, Madeleine Therrien.
Outside of his dedication to work and family, Roger pursued a variety of hobbies and interests that reflected his curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for craftsmanship. He was a passionate collector of coins and clocks, taking great pride in the history, artistry, and stories behind each piece. Roger also enjoyed woodworking and was widely regarded as a talented handyman, capable of repairing, building, or improving nearly anything. He found great fulfillment in working with his hands, tackling challenges, and lending his skills to help others with projects of all sizes. His deep love for family also inspired a passion for genealogy, through which he carefully researched and developed an extensive family tree that preserved his family's history for future generations.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
