Ronald Joseph Desrochers, 90, died peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Courville Nursing Home in Nashua, NH. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille F. (Gagnon) Desrochers with whom he shared 55 years of marriage prior to her passing on February 1, 2014.

Ron was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 1, 1935 and was the son of the late Armand and Marie (Trudel) Desrochers.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Occupation in the late 1950s. Ron was a member of the VFW.

Ron was a skilled machinist. He began his career working for Nashua Industrial Machine Corp. Most of his career was with Nim-Cor, Inc., in Nashua, where he dedicated many years to his trade until his retirement. A hardworking and dependable man, Ron took great pride in his work and the skills he developed throughout his career. He had a mechanical mind and was a key problem solver, addressing critical improvements to the company's product line.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed tinkering, designing machinery, repairing and rebuilding small engines, and construction, always finding a project to keep his hands busy. He also loved tending his large vegetable garden and swore by the virtues of a fresh garden tomato.

Ron had a lifelong love of country music and enjoyed playing guitar and singing, later taking up the banjo as well. As a young man, he and his band, Ronnie Rex and the Texas Troubadours, played at the Lone Star Ranch in Merrimack.

Ron was a true outdoorsman at heart, enjoying fishing, canoeing, camping, archery, and hunting. Ron was a member of the Watanic Bowmen’s Club in Merrimack, where he shared his passion for archery with others.

For many years, he and his late wife, Lucille (Lou), loved to go dancing together with friends at the Lafayette Club and the Garde Rochambeau Club in Nashua—memories he cherished throughout his life. Above all, Ron will be remembered for his loving and giving spirit, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the kindness he extended to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.

He is survived by his daughter, Denise Myles and her husband Bryan of Merrimack, his two sons, Paul Desrochers and his wife Martha Ikerd of Boxboro, MA, and Eric Desrochers of Merrimack; his grandchildren, James Myles and his wife Sureya, Stephanie Myles, Dylan Myles, Ollie Desrochers, Nathan Desrochers, William Desrochers and Lily Desrochers and her husband Greg. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Alice, Emma and Wesley; as well as his sweetheart of many years, Yvette Comtois; and his many nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Gertrude Ayotte, Gabrielle (Gaby) Ledoux and Rene Desrochers.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ronald’s Funeral Mass on FRIDAY, September 11th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonazgue Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment and presentation of military honors will follow in the Old St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
