Obituary

Suzanne "Sue" Jeanne Kapala, 75, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Raymond "Ray" T. Kapala, Sr., with whom she shared 57 years of marriage and many leisurely walks together, hand in hand.

Sue was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 2, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louella B. (Roux) Cote. She received her education at St. Theresa School as well as St. Louis Academy in Lowell where she graduated from high school.

For many years, she worked as a customer service representative in food service for various companies including Lincoln Labs until her retirement.

In her free time, Sue never turned down a trip to the beach to enjoy some of her favorite foods, beach pizza or a seafood dinner. She cherished time spent with her family. She will be missed and forever loved.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by her three children, Ginger Coupal and her husband Alan of Dracut, Dawn Shelton and her husband Djuan of Florida, and Raymond T. Kapala, Jr. and his wife Lori of Dracut; her four grandchildren, Kallandra Jeanne Nyhagen and her husband Philip, Raymond T. Kapala, III and his wife Dr. Julia, Joshua Shelton and his wife Rachel, and Zachary Shelton and his fiancé Brooke; her great-grandchildren, Henry Kapala and Josephine Rae Kapala and one on the way. She was also survived by her siblings, Diane Breault and her husband Paul, Donald Cote, Albert Cote and his wife Vicky, Bruce Cote and his wife Janice, Robert Cote and his wife Helen, and Jeffrey Cote and his wife Jackie; sister-in-law, Patricia Cote; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas Ryan Lawrence; her brother Bernard Cote; and her sister-in-law, Pat Cote.

At Sue's request, all services were held privately. Arrangements under the care of her granddaughter, Kallandra and Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
