Adrienne Wright Obituary

After a wonderfully fulfilling and interesting life Adrienne Adams Wright of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully Sunday, December 6th.  She was born on September 5th (If anyone asked her age she would cheerfully respond “29”) and raised in Cranston, RI, the adored daughter of the late Raymond and Marion Adams.  She majored in English at Bates College where she met her beloved husband, Dave Wright. They married August 6, 1955 and spent 65 happy years together. They enjoyed holding hands till the end. After living in Brooklyn, NY and Warwick, RI they settled in Nashua in 1965 and lived in the same house for 55 years where she was a homemaker. She spent every Summer since age 14 at her beloved beach house in North Kingstown, RI. and rarely missed a day of swimming laps.

Family, friends, and her faith were the three most important values in her life. She’s been a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Nashua for 55 years.  She still had friends from as far back as her preschool days. In her high school year book she stated that one of her main ambitions in life was to help people and that she did in spades. She was always reaching out to others, was an excellent listener, and after talking with her you felt uplifted. She never said an unkind word.

She was born to be a Mom and her proudest achievement was being a mother to her six kids. She loved being a stay-at-home Mom and participated in each of her kids’ lives; volunteering at their schools, in their scouting programs, attending all of their events, and being their biggest cheerleader. She also loved being a Grandmother to her 9 Grandchildren and Great Grandmother to her 5 Great Grandchildren. She even taught English to one of her Grandsons when he was being home schooled, and regularly babysat for several of her grandchildren when they were babies. She was happiest with a baby in her lap.

She was very active and up for anything. She and Dave were able to travel the world together and with friends visiting places like Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Virgin Islands, and many more. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. She volunteered often, loved to read, play bridge and other games; participated in 4-5 exercise classes a week, including Zumba, until just a couple of years ago and when not at the gym she walked up to 4 miles a day.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Dave Wright, their six children; Jordan Wright and his wife Jennie of Nashua, NH;, Adrienne Colsia and her husband Wayne of Lyndeborough, NH; Gary Wright and his wife Sherry of Exeter, RI; David Wright and his wife Nicole of Wilton, NH; Alison Wright and her husband Mark of Eliot, ME; and Heather Wright of Nashua; 9 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. There will be no services at this time, but in keeping with her wish to have a party after her passing a Celebration of Life will be held next Summer at her beach house.
