Bienvenido Borromeo Obituary

Bienvenido (Ben) Y. Borromeo, 90, passed away on May 11, at home with family by his side, after a quiet and courageous battle with Cancer. Born on Feb 16, 1930, in Camiguin Philippines, he was the son of the late Eulogio and Rafaela (Yikyekan) Borromeo.

A long-time resident of Nashua, he attended an Engineering School in the Philippines and later enlisted to serve 21 years in the US Navy.  After his service in the Navy, he worked various jobs at the International Shoe Machine Corp, Teradyne and Lowell Paper Box Company before retiring in 1998.

He spent most of his retirement attending all extra-circular activities of his grandchildren.  He was always on the sidelines watching soccer games, football games, baseball games, attending recitals/concerts and just enjoying his time playing with the grandchildren.

His one big love in life, besides his family, was his trips to Maine to go deep-sea fishing with his best friend.  He found peace in going out into the deep Ocean to catch bucket-loads of mackerel and blue fish with his best friend.

His other big love was watching boxing.  As an avid boxing fan, he could discuss, in detail, all of these big fights and actually have recordings on VHS.

Most of all, he will be missed for his kind, gentle, easy-going nature and the way in which he lived his life by enjoying every minute of the day without a care in the world.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 57 years, Pia (Cinches), his late son Brian and his wife Sue of Nashua, NH, son Barney and his wife Brandace of Middleboro, MA, Bienvenido Jr and his wife Clara of the Philippines as well as 9 grandchildren.

The 9 grandchildren are Benjamin, Patrick, Paige, Bryson, Brady, Braden, MacKenzie, Xyris Dianne and Yvonne .

Although his illness was sudden and quick, Ben maintained to keep the life he loved as normal as possible, spending time with his wife and grandchildren.

A memorial Mass and a celebration of life will be announced in the future. His family would be honored if those who would like to donate in his name would direct them to St. Patrick’s Parish – 29 Spring Street in Nashua NH 03060 and American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
