Christopher "Chris" Alden Osmer, 42, passed away on June 6, 2026.
Born on October 24, 1983, in Niskayuna, New York, Chris was the beloved son of Richard and Cynthia (Dickson) Osmer. He grew up surrounded by family and friends and carried throughout his life a warmth, humor, and generosity that touched everyone who knew him.
Chris worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his dedication and friendly nature. He had a remarkable gift for remembering birthdays and special occasions, never missing an opportunity to reach out and let family and friends know they were in his thoughts.
A kind, funny, and artistic soul with a big heart, Chris embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. Music was one of his great passions. In high school he played the trumpet and was the lead singer of the band, Cool Hands Luke, sharing his love of music with those around him.by He enjoyed going to concerts with his friends. He was also very proud of his collection of band/concert t-shirts. He loved the outdoors and could often be found camping, rafting, or enjoying nature's beauty.
Halloween was Chris's favorite holiday. He delighted in all things spooky and looked forward each year to celebrating the season with his unique sense of fun and imagination. He loved posing his skeletons throughout his apartment.
Chris was a devoted dog owner and cherished the companionship of his Siberian Husky, Seven. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time outdoors with Seven, especially throwing a frisbee and enjoying long days together. Family was at the center of Chris's life, and he especially treasured being an uncle. He found great joy in spending time with his nephews and watching them grow. In his younger years, he also enjoyed playing baseball.
In addition to his parents, Richard and Cynthia Osmer, Chris is survived by his brothers, Richard "Rick" Osmer and his wife, Jennifer, of Marshfield, Massachusetts, and Matthew Osmer and his wife, Nicole, of Nashua; his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Dickson of South Carolina; his beloved nephews, Liam, Colin, Rhys, and Brooks; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Chris was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Suzanne and Denny Osmer, and his maternal grandfather, Philip Dickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 19th, from 1:00 to 3:00 at:
