Claire Elizabeth Morrison

Claire Elizabeth (Marquis) Morrison, November 9, 1936 – June 1, 2020, age 83, of Amherst, NH, passed peacefully in her sleep in her home after a courageous battle with renal failure.

Claire was born in Nashua, NH, and attended St. Louis elementary and high school. She was on the high school basketball team and a Majorette in the St. Louis Drill Team.

She worked as a Hostess at Giovanni’s, and a seamstress at Hall Manufacturing; she retired in 1988.

Claire is survived by her husband Arthur Morrison, her daughter Donna Couch and her husband Ronald of Litchfield, her son Michael Philbrook and his husband Sebastian Arango of Merrimack, and her daughter Robyn McKinney of Corpus Christi, TX; also her stepchildren Charlotte Cloutier and her husband Leo of Clermont, FL, Sharon Whalen and her husband Mark of Pahrump, NV, Lauren Jones of Atlanta, GA, and Arthur Morrison, Jr. and his wife Eddye of Hillsborough, NC; 20 grandchildren (predeceased by a granddaughter, Christine Philbrook), 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, her brother Wilfrid Marquis and his wife Veronica of Hollis, her brother Daniel Marquis and his wife Georgia of Nashua, her sisters in law Helen Marquis of Hudson, Phyllis Philbrook of Plainville, MA, Alice Beaulieu of Nashua, and her brothers in law Robert Morrison of Dover and James Morrison of Venice, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Lucien and Germaine (Bonenfant) Marquis, her sister Carmel Hall, and her brother Paul Marquis.

Due to the limited number of persons allowed within establishments, St. Christopher’s Catholic Parish will be restricting the number of occupants/attendants to 50 in order to maintain safety while abiding by CDC guidelines and local ordinances. Her Funeral Mass will take place on THURSDAY, June 11th at 11 AM in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua.  Her interment will take place in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire’s name to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
