Constance "Connie" E. (Ryan) Ahern Obituary
Born on January 18, 1950, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Connie was the beloved daughter of David Ryan Sr. and Marilyn Moriarty (Whelan). She was raised in a close-knit community and maintained lifelong friendships with many of her childhood and high school friends.
Connie was a proud graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School and went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Salem State College. She later earned a master’s degree in Social Services from Springfield College, reflecting her deep commitment to helping others.
Connie dedicated much of her professional life to supporting those in need as a substance abuse clinician at Elliot Community Human Services. Earlier in her career, she expressed her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit by owning her own interior design business, a field she truly loved. Decorating remained a lifelong passion, and she had a remarkable gift for creating warm and welcoming spaces.
Outside of her career, Connie found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved reading, spending time with her cherished pets, and gathering with friends and family. She especially treasured family vacations in Maine, where lasting memories were made year after year. Connie also had a fantastic sense of humor—she brought warmth and laughter to those around her, often lightening the moment with her quick wit and playful spirit.
Above all, Connie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother who took immense pride in her children and her granddaughter. She cherished FaceTime calls with her, loved hearing about her life, and delighted in cheering her on from afar.
Connie will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, creativity, and unwavering love for those around her. She had a remarkable sense of humor and a way of making others feel at ease, often bringing comfort and laughter when it was needed most. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Constance is survived by her two children, Ryan Ahern of Nashua and Amy Eibell and her husband, Greg, of Santa Rosa, California; her granddaughter, Teagan; her siblings, Thomas Ryan and his wife, Victoria, of Lusaka, Zambia, and David Ryan of Lynn, Massachusetts; as well as several nieces and nephews and many cherished lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Maura Ryan.
A celebration of life will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Connie’s memory to Kitty Angels or the Nashua Humane Society
