David H. Olsen

NASHUA- David H. Olsen, 78, left this earth  to join Jesus in Heaven on Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  David (Dave) is the beloved husband of Lorraine (Fillmore) Olsen with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Dave was born in Cambridge, MA on June 19, 1941 and was the son of the late David W. and Gladys (Blair) Olsen.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1967.

Dave was employed for most of his professional career by Polaroid as a computer programmer.

He was an avid Boston Sports fan, with the Bruins being his number one team. It was not uncommon for his neighbors to hear “GOAL!” when the Bruins scored. Dave was a dedicated husband,  father and family man making sure to partake in every activity his children were involved in. From coaching various teams, to making sure their memories of camping trips lasted a lifetime. In his more recent years,  his grandchildren became his top priority. Both Dave and Lorraine made sure to attend as many events as they could for all 10 of their grandchildren. Dave also was very passionate about researching his genealogy. His witty personality and sarcasm will be something that is truly missed.

In addition to his wife, Lorraine, Dave is survived by his four children and ten grandchildren, Lorelle O. Bergeron and her husband John of Gettysburg, PA and their daughter Simone Bergeron; David W. Olsen and his wife Michelle of Salem, NH and their children Emma, David H. and Mary Olsen; Brian S. Olsen and his wife Amy of Nashua and their children Corina, Courtney, and Caitlyn Olsen; and Heather O. Cassarino and her husband Anthony of Plymouth, NH and their children, Allison Williams and her husband Mark, and Douglas and Lauren Cassarino. He is also survived by his sister Patricia MacNeill of Abington, MA; his two nieces, Marion Zulon and Denice Hatch, as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.

Dave was predeceased by his daughter Michelle Olsen and his brother-in-law, James MacNeill.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on SUNDAY, July 21st from 4 until 6 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will take place on MONDAY, July 22nd at 11 AM in Crossway Christian Church, 503 Main Dunstable Road, Nashua. Interment to follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Shriner Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to the American Heart Association, P.O.
