Dennis R. Martineau Obituary

Dennis R. Martineau, 65, died peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Beth Israel Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts. He is the beloved husband of Debra (Cloutier) Martineau with whom he married on May 22, 2015 and shared 11 years of marriage.

Dennis was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 14, 1960 and was the son of the late Robert and Rose (Hall) Martineau. He received his education in the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He continued his education and attended Hesser College where he graduated with two associate degrees.

For his entire career, he worked as an electrical engineer beginning his career at Wang Laboratories in Lowell, Sertonics, and SeaChange International until his retirement.

Dennis was a man of wide-ranging intellect and quiet passions. He found great joy in reading across many genres, with a special fondness for science fiction, and even authored a book of his own. A lover of language, he also wrote poetry, expressing both thought and feeling with care. Deeply devoted to his faith, Dennis was a faithful Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua. He enjoyed cooking and treasured simple pleasures, especially leisurely coastal drives to Newcastle, New Hampshire, where he and his wife, Debra, would share peaceful picnics by the water. Together, they also enjoyed watching sports, creating lasting memories side by side. Gifted with a brilliant mathematical mind, Dennis embraced the challenges of the subject and shared his knowledge as a former physics teacher. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with those he loved most.

In addition to his wife Debra, he is survived by daughter, Jade Martineau of Lowell; his sister, Donna Demange and her husband Gerard of Dracut; his brother-in-law, Stephen Cerand of Lowell; his best friend Gerard Noel and his wife Lisa of Lowell; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Joyce Cerand.
