Donald Desrosiers Obituary

Donald N. Desrosiers, 90, passed away peacefully after a sudden decline in health on Wednesday January 17, 2024. He was born in Nashua, NH on September 19, 1933, and is the son of the late Archie and Yvonne (Lavoie) Desrosiers. Donald spent many years in Nashua, before moving to Mont Vernon with family in 2015.

Donald proudly served his country in the Air Force military police during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after serving. Following his discharge, Donald worked for the Nashua Fire Department as a driver and moved his way up to becoming a Chief Inspector. He also served as Commander of the American Legion J.E. Coffey Post 3 in Nashua, as well as the Director of Boys State.

In his free time, Donald loved to be outside doing yard work, especially mowing his lawn and hedge trimming. He enjoyed watching various sports games, but his favorite was the Yankees and Patriots.  Donald was a fun and loving person that enjoyed socializing and meeting with others. Donald also enjoyed his time spent at the Nashua Senior Center for lunch and the Nashua Firefighter’s Retirees events. In the 1960's he was a trophy winning member of the Firefighters bowling team. He was a good man with a humble soul and will truly be missed. Above all else, Donald enjoyed spending time with family and friends the most.

Donald is survived by his two children Donna Maurer, and Douglas Desrosiers and his wife Adele; his grandson Noah Desrosiers; and his four siblings, Cecile Demonaco and her husband Carmen, Larry and his wife Ann, Robert and his wife Pat, and Norman. Donald was predeceased by his wife Jessie (Cudworth) Desrosiers, his brother Raymond Desrosiers and his sister-in-law Claire.

Donald’s family would like to thank Home, Health, and Hospice for their kindness and the health care they provided.  It was truly an honor to have cared for my father in the last years and days of his life. God blessed us with more time for his care.
