NASHUA- Donald C. Rhodes, 83, died peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Lillian (Barrette) Rhodes with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Donald was born in Webster, Massachusetts on March 21, 1937 and was the son of the late Ralph and Clara (Sandness) Rhodes.
For 33 years, he was employed as a special technician for Southern New England Telephone until he retired.
In his free time, Donald was an avid golfer and on January 12, 2016, he shot a hole-in-one at his home course of Sweetwater Golf and Tennis Club, loved saltwater fishing, and enjoyed doing word searches. Donald stayed true to his Boston love and was a fan of the Red Sox and New England Patriots and always found the time to read the Boston Herald, his favorite newspaper. He was also a manager for youth sports and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, especially time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Lillian, he is survived by his son Brian Rhodes and his wife Mary of Nashua; his daughter Donna Cathcart of Wethersfield, CT; his four grandchildren, Kelsey Gould and her husband Cameron, Patrick Rhodes, and his wife Samantha, Kendall Cathcart, and Morgan Cathcart; his two great-granddaughters, Sophie and Zoe Rhodes. Donald is also survived by his brother Ronald Rhodes and his significant other Betty Prince of Auburndale, FL and his sister, Trudy Richmond and her husband James of Summerfield, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to current public health and safety concerns, funeral services for Donald will be limited to immediate family members and held privately.
