Douglas Aaron Hitzeman, 53, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Florida.
Douglas was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina and is the son of Donald and Claudia (Lenar) Hitzeman of Nashua. He received his education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School, as well as receiving an associate’s degree at Nashua Community College in hospitality.
Over the years, Doug has been employed as a bartender at Penuche’s in Nashua as well as a livery driver.
In his free time, Doug had a true passion for music, and loved attending concerts, especially Grateful Dead and Billy Strings shows. He was an avid camper, hiker and skier, skiing many mountains including his favorite, Cannon Mountain. Doug enjoyed traveling to various destinations but Bozeman, Montana had a special place in his heart. In his younger years, he coached many soccer teams through the Nashua Youth League. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family and friends who he loved deeply. Many would say that Doug had an infectious nature, always sharing a joke, a story or dancing to the beat of his own drum. He brought smiles to all, with his being the biggest in the room.
In addition to his parents, Donald and Claudia, he is survived by his two children, Nolin Hitzeman and Delainey Jones; his two brothers, Eric and Christopher Hitzeman; his former wife, Candace Gordon; as well as his sister-in-law, Jennifer Boisvert and his nieces and nephews, Annabelle, Max, and Luke.
Doug would tell anyone that would listen that his greatest joy and accomplishment was his beautiful boy, Nolin.
Relatives and friends are invited to Doug’s visitation on FRIDAY, May 5th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Cremation will follow and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s name to the Turtle Ridge Foundation, P.O. Box 10, Franconia, NH 03580 or by visiting www.turtleridgefoundation.com
