Evelyn (Ouellette) Michaud

Evelyn (Ouellette) Michaud, 89, of Nashua, NH, died on 12/14/2020 at High Point Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. She was born in St. Agatha, ME, daughter of Joseph and Annie (Gagnon) Ouellette.  Evelyn met the love of her life, Roland Michaud of Fort Kent, Maine in 1946 and they married in 1950. They later moved to Caribou, Maine where they raised their family and lived for 27 years. Then moved to Anchorage, AK and ultimately settled in Nashua in 1984 where her devoted husband of 70 years, Roland, survives her.

Evelyn had many hidden creative skills. She became a licensed hairdresser later in life, although she had a natural ability to cut, color and perm hair for others well before that. She painted and created many beautiful pieces of scenic artwork. She was a fantastic seamstress and loved to make clothes.

In her retirement years she developed a love for quilting and created numerous beautiful quilts for her family. She was best recognized by everyone who knew her as always being so welcoming and happy to see you whenever you entered her home. She volunteered at the St. Joseph Hospital gift shop in Nashua for 10 years and at the Immaculate Conception gift shop where she was a long-time member in Nashua. She was a lifelong member of the Daughters of Isabela.

Evelyn is survived by her four children, Debra (Tim) Sweeney of Milford, MA, James (Cindy) of Hudson, NH, Michael of Litchfield, NH and Daniel (Linda) of Murrells Inlet, SC.  Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Julianne (Trevor) O’Leary, Joseph (Tiffany) Sweeney, Phillip (Jenna) Sweeney, Taylor Cadwell Michaud, Stephen Michaud, Joseph Michaud and Michael (Lara) Michaud and their children Sophia and Keaton.

She is survived by her siblings, Normande Collin of New Britain, CT, Lucien (Clara) Ouellette of Madawaska, ME, Cecile (Roland) Morin of St. David, ME, Claudette (Leo) Sirois of Higganum, CT, Paul (Cleo) Ouellette of Frenchville, ME, and Br. Roland Ouellette, SC of Pascoag, RI; sisters-in-law, Stella Ouellette of Frenchville, ME and Janet Ouellette of New Britain, CT; also, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Normand, Maurice, Arthur, Oneil and Claude Ouellette, and Clifford Martin, and sisters Yvette Beaulieu, Bernadette Bell, Yvette Plourde, Juliette Lagassey, Lucille Martin and Rachel Ouellette.

A memorial mass will be held in the Spring of 2021 at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to charity of one's choice.
