Evmorfia Raissis, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, New Hampshire. Born on February 10, 1947, in Athens, Greece, Evmorfia was the beloved daughter of the late John and Irene (Anairousis) Michial.
She was the devoted wife of Zannis Raissis for over 50 years until his passing in 2015. Together, they shared a loving and vibrant life, filled with joyful Greek traditions and unforgettable travels, especially on the seas.
Evmorfia had a passion for music, dancing, and singing. If there was music, she was the first one on the dance floor and the first one singing with her angelic voice. She also enjoyed cooking for loved ones and spending time with her family, which brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
She was recently a member of the St. Philip’s Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua New Hampshire, and was a devoted member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in New Jersey for over 40 years. Evmorfia was active in the church choir and a proud member of the Ladies Philotohos Society. Her deep faith and warm spirit touched many in the Greek Orthodox community and beyond.
She is survived by her two children Nicholas Raissis and his wife Anastasia of Seattle, WA, and Irene Alton and her husband Scott of Amherst, NH; her five grandchildren Leah Raissis, Emily Raissis, Zane Raissis, Evmorfia Alton, and Sophia Alton; her two siblings Mary Michial of Athens, Greece, and Xristos Michial of Athens, Greece; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Services will follow at 11:00 am at St. Demeterios Greek Orthodox Church, 41-47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy, NJ. Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41-47 Wisteria St., Perth Amboy NJ 08861.
