Frances T. Lisa, 81, died peacefully Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH, with hospital friends by her side. Frances was born in Boston, Mass. on April 27, 1940 to a teenage Mother.
Being abandoned she was then sent to Fernald State Infirmary/School where she never felt at home while growing up. It was there she met another abandoned child, Mary who remained friends for life. When Frannie was in her late twenties, she was allowed to leave the institute.
She began work by doing house cleaning, babysitting, etc. and then eventually she came to St. Joseph Hospital to work in the Housekeeping/Laundry Dept. There she remained for 35+ years. Following her retirement, she and Mary found great joy in volunteering at the hospital.
Fran was a devoted Parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Nashua, a member of the Associates of St. Marguerite d’Youville, Grey Nuns, Rivier Prayer Community, volunteer at Nashua Soup Kitchen, member of the YMCA in Merrimack (where she made many friends), and helper at St. Joseph Hospital Christmas Basket event for needy families.
Fran was predeceased by her lifelong and best friend, Mary Wingood, who passed away September 18, 2014.
Fran is survived by her many friends especially Natalie Undercofler, Pat Hurd, and Maria Bradbury.
Friends and family are invited to Fran’s Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, January 27th at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
