Gerard "Ace" "Gerry" Berube Obituary

With wonderful memories but saddened hearts, the family of Gerard Maurice Berube “Gerry”, “Ace” regretfully share the news of his quick and unexpected departure from this earth on February 1st, 2021 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Nashua.

Born January 5th, 1963 to the late Henry S. and Rita L. (Demers) Berube, growing up, Gerry loved spending time playing hockey and enjoying the outdoors.

Gerry’s chosen profession and true calling was as a Master Electrician by trade, at which he excelled. He spent the last 25 years working as Lead Electrician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where each day he was determined to carry out the Hospitals mission.

Gerry enjoyed many things in life, especially the little things. In his time at home, Gerry loved tinkering around the house on various projects as well as fixing, building, or making any-and-everything. He was truly a MacGyver and a jack of all trades and we promise, he was a master of many.

Gerry could be a homebody, but did enjoy taking his family “up camp” to his in-law’s lake house in Laconia and take them on his boat to enjoy his “Happy Place”- Lake Winnipesaukee. Up-Camp was where Gerry was carefree without a worry in the world because he was with those he loved and cared for.

In addition to his happy place, Gerry enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, cooking, camping, watching sports, watching movies over and over, music, and relaxing with his right-hand man, his grand-dog Tuukka by his side, and always a rum and coke in the other.

Gerry was knowledgeable in many things, and would not hesitate to help anyone who needed it, it was just the way his big heart ticked.

Gerry made his way to heaven leaving behind his wife, Betsy (Rieth) with whom he shared love with for 40 years, 33 of those married. Gerry’s legend will live on through his three children: Morgan, Michael and Marissa. Gerry will also be loved and remembered by his siblings, David and Richard Berube, and MaryAnne Gaudreau and their families. In addition to his siblings, he will be fondly remembered by his in-laws The Rieth Family: Ronald “Bubbie”, David, Rhonda, Danielle and Jessica and their respective families. Gerry “Grampy” will be sorely missed by his treasured Grand-Dogs, Tuukka and Gavin.

Gerry was welcomed into his heavenly journey with love by his Parents, brother Peter, mother-in-law Paula “Nana” Rieth, James “LB” Rieth, and his dog, Nikita who were waiting for him at the gates above. We are positive they will show him the ropes and he will catch on quicky to his new occupation, Protector of those he left back on earth.

Gerry loved life with a casual attitude, so feel free to dress casually in Gerry’s honor.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gerry’s WALK-THROUGH visitation on MONDAY, February 8th from 10 AM until 12 Noon at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Interment will be private immediately following the services at Woodlawn Cemetery.

As his final gesture to the Hospital mission to support Project Search, a program close to Gerry’s heart, in lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made in Gerry’s name to:
