Gerard O. “Gerry” Lavoie, 90, a lifelong resident of Nashua, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He is the beloved husband of Jeannine G. (Duval) Lavoie with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage.

Gerry was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on February 7, 1933 and was the son of the late Auguste and Marie Jeanne (Plourde) Lavoie. He attended schools in the Nashua School System.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged.

For many years, he was employed as a molder at Bronzecraft until his retirement.

Gerry was a member of the Layfayette Club, enjoyed bowling and was an avid cribbage player. He and his family camped at Monadnock & Woodmore Campgrounds every summer for over 20 years. Gerry traveled to various destinations with his wife including Arizona, Nevada to visit the Grand Canyon as well as a couple trips to Bermuda and Florida. He also never turned down a leisurely drive. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family whom he loved deeply.

In addition to his wife, Jeannine, he is survived by his children, Michael Lavoie of Nashua, Andre Lavoie and his wife Cathy of Nashua; Roger Lavoie and his wife Paula of Merrimack, Dennis Lavoie and his wife Gail of Nashua, Louise McGuire and her husband Dennis of Nashua, Anne Marie Caron and her husband Darrell of Nashua, and Nicole McMahon and her husband Kevin of Nashua. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; his brother Philip Lavoie and his wife Linda of Nashua as well as his sisters-in-law, Louise Lavoie of Merrimack and Carol Lavoie of Nashua; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins in the US & Canada.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, John and his wife Diane, Donald and Richard as well as his sister Rita Constant and her husband Roger.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gerry’s visitation on WEDNESDAY, November 8th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, November 9th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
