OBITUARY – GERARD ‘JERRY’ A. MIGNEAULT

NASHUA- Gerard A. ‘Jerry” Migneault, 88, died peacefully Tuesday morning, February 11, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his family. Jerry is the husband of Barbara (Lynch) Migneault with whom he shares 65 beautiful years of marriage.

Jerry was born in Nashua on April 20, 1931 and was the son of the late Alphonse and Theresa (Jodouin) Migneault. He received his education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1950.

He enlisted in the United States Navy at the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950. He served four years along the Korean Coast, aboard the USS Rochester, also known as the “Galloping Ghost of the Korean Coast.”  He was honorably discharged in 1954.

For over 40 years, Jerry was employed by the United States Post Office as a letter carrier until he retired in 1996.

Jerry was an accomplished accordion player and played often especially in his younger years at weddings and school assemblies.  He always enjoyed attending his sons and grandsons many baseball games and loved being the assistant coach with his Babe Ruth Dodgers. He was also an avid Boston sports fan. Jerry was a member of the VFW Post 483, American Legion, AARP, and the 100 Club of NH. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his loving family.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his three children, Marie Dobens and her husband James of Hudson, NH and Boothbay Harbor, ME, Mike Migneault and his wife Mylene of Laconia, NH, and Marc Migneault and his former wife Celeste (Piwowarski) Migneault of Laconia. His grandchildren, Sheri Eng and her husband Nathan of Hollis, Brett Dobens and his wife Laura of Hollis, Cory Migneault and his wife Alyssa of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Darren Migneault of New York, NY, and Micala Donnelly and her husband Sean of Silver Springs, Maryland; as well as his five great-grandchildren, Charlotte Eng, Fletcher Dobens, Marguerite Dobens, Owen Migneault and Madison. Jerry is also survived by his brother Leo Migneault and his wife Celyne of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Jerry was predeceased by his twin sister, Giselle Vaillancourt and his brother Robert Migneault.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jerry’s visitation on FRIDAY, February 14th from 2 until 4 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on SATURDAY, February 15th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment and presentation of military honors to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. Donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the Sisters of Holy Cross, Development Office, 365 Island Pond Road, Manchester, NH 03109.
