Gladys Harp Obituary

Gladys Frances Harp, 95, died peacefully at Fairview Nursing Home on Sunday evening, July 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Discordia who predeceased her on August 4, 1966 as well as the wife of the late Eugene Harp who predeceased her on February 19, 2017.

Gladys was born in New York, New York on December 7, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Mary (Bolleman) and William Shorsbree.

For many years, she was employed as an assembler for many various manufacturing companies until her retirement.

In her free time, Gladys enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and listening to music. Gladys was an avid dog lover and liked to spend time in her garden in Florida when she would reside there. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with family.

She is survived by her six children, Arlene Smith and her husband Newman of Ocean Springs, MS, William Discordia and his wife Cathy of Niantic, CT, Ralph Discordia and his wife Jacqueline of Orlando, FL, Donna Discordia of Nashua, David Discordia and his wife Paula of Nashua, Michael Discordia and his wife Lynn of Georgia; her four stepchildren, Eugene Harp Jr. of Vermont, John Harp and his wife Stephanie of Merrimack, Constance Harp of Nashua, and Jane White of Nashua; her 15 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Gay of Groton, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her late husbands, Michael and Eugene, she was predeceased by her son, Michael A. Discordia and her sister Grace Mills.

Relatives and friends are invited to Glady’s visitation on FRIDAY, July 9th from 4 until 6 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Burial will take on FRIDAY, July 16th at 11:30 AM in St. Patrick Cemetery, Depot Road, Uncasville, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gladys’ name to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
