Irene Marguerite Rose Dubé Boilard, 84, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Fairview Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Gil R. Boilard, with whom she shared a deep, storybook love since they were 14 and 15 years old. Together for nearly a lifetime, they would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on October 5th.
Born in Nashua, NH, on September 29, 1939, Irene was the daughter of the late René and Fleurette (Beauregard) Dubé. She attended Nashua schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1957. Irene continued her education at Hesser College, where she graduated with high honors with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She was employed at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant and Motor Lodge for over thirty years, starting as a waitress and ending her career as a General Manager.
Irene was known for her wit, strength, and the vibrant spirit she carried with her even in her final moments. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all. Sunday dinners were a beloved tradition, and she also found joy in the simple pleasures, like spending time at Salisbury Beach and York Beach. A devout Catholic, she held a special devotion to St. Anne and found great comfort in her faith.
Irene is survived by her husband, Gil, and their four children: Gary Boilard and his wife Lisa of Orlando, Florida; Linda Brodeur Paladino and her husband Pete Paladino of Nashua, NH; Karen Petry of Hollis, NH, son-in-law, David Petry of Hollis, NH; and Scott Boilard and his wife Angela of Cape Coral, Florida.
She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Kelly Cummings (Scott), Kaitlin Medeiros (James), Kristina Woods (Gordon), Stephanie Boilard, Elizabeth Viola (Mario), Lindsay Boilard, Sarah Petry, Tyler Brodeur, Jocelyn Bednarski (Dan), Iana Boilard, Saige Boilard, Nicole Petry, Kaylyn Boilard, and Brianna Boilard, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren: Myles, William, Addison, Noah, Connor, Eilis, Esme, Maclin, Rónán, Graham, Beau, and Maeve.
In addition, Irene is survived by her sister, Rita Boucher, and her husband Gerard of Nashua; her sister-in-law, Nancy Dubé of Greenville, SC; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers René, Normand, and Richard Dubé, and her sister-in-law, Inge Dubé.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fairview Nursing Home, especially the aides, nurses, and administrators of the East Wing, for their compassionate care of both Irene and Gil.
