Irene Amanda Provencher

Irene A. Provencher, 93, of Nashua, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on August 6, 2025.

Born in Nashua on December 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ludger and Albia (Voyer) Desrosiers. A lifelong resident of Nashua, Irene was a proud graduate of Nashua High School and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.

She dedicated many years to customer service roles and worked at Sprague Electric before its closing.   She also work at Bensons Animal farm and handled money coming in from concession stands, rides, and restaurants.  She was last employed at Marion Office Products where she retired from, where she was known for her warm personality and reliability.

Irene loved her cat, Tara, and She cherished her lunch dates with friends, watching football and baseball, and was never without her beloved cup of Dunkin’ coffee. Christmas was Irene’s favorite time of year, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Gail Ross, and her husband Richard of Alexandria, NH; her grandchildren, Kayleen Provencher, Duane Provencher, Travis Provencher and his wife Carrie, Jacob Ross, and Brittany Ross; and her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Elizabeth, Weston.   Mia, Arliana, and Val Jr. Got very close over the years, and She loved them as well.  She also leaves behind her cousin Bob Gagne; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Selvitella; and her dear friends Doris, Jane, Rose, and Jane P.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Provencher in September 1998,and Dennis Provencher, in June of 2016; and by her brother, Alfred Desrosiers, and his wife, Simone.

Relatives and friends are invited to Irene’s visitation on WEDNESDAY, August 13th from 4-7 p.m. at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, August 14th at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 777 W Hollis St., Nashua. Her interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
