MERRIMACK- Irene (Poirier) (Migneault) Watkins, 89, a lifelong resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Community Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Irene was the loving wife of the late Howard Watkins who predeceased her in 1996.
Irene was born on September 2, 1930, in Nashua. She was the beloved daughter of the late Oliver and Elizabeth (Lagasse) Poirier. She attended local schools in the Nashua area.
She worked at Kollsman and later Sprague Electric as an assembler from where she retired from.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to Foxwood Casino. Above all, she truly cherished time spent with her family.
Irene is survived by her three daughters, Rachel Allard and her husband Russ of Merrimack, Joyce Poliquin and her partner John Allard of Nashua, and Alice Mcgrath and her husband Bob of Tilton, NH. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Ed, Hollie, Bruce, Brian, Shawn and Stacie; her eleven great-grandchildren, Jourden, Brooke, Brittany, Kaylee, Madee, Bruce III, Brandon, Ian, Bryce, Emily and Kyle; her four great-great grandchildren, Riley, Cullen, Isabella, and Jackson.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Alfred and Roland Poirier as well as her two sisters, Jeannette Heino and Theresa Goulet.
Relatives and friends are invited to Irene’s graveside services and interment on SATURDAY, March 7th at 11 AM in Last Rest Cemetery, 7 Hillside Terrace, Merrimack, NH 03054. Arrangements entrusted to the care of ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene’s name to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
