James Kotopoulis Obituary

James “Jim” A. Kotopoulis, 73, of Nashua, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Jeannette (Turcotte) Kotopoulis with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Jim was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 8, 1947, and was the son of the late James D. and Pauline A. (Chevrette) Kotopoulis.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in October of 1969. During his time serving, he received many medals and badges including Vietnam Service Medal and a medal for being a sharpshooter. Most recently, Jim was able to re connect with his fellow veterans at the 14th Combat Engineer reunions held all over the country and reminisce, which brought so much happiness to his life.

In his younger years, Jim was employed as a dispatcher for a moving company, however most recently, he worked as a purchasing agent for Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare until his retirement.

In his free time, you could find Jim taking a leisurely drive, tending to his vegetable garden, or splitting and stacking wood. He and his wife, Jeannette, would travel often together.  Some of their favorite destinations were Florida, Nashville, and Las Vegas.  He was the ultimate family man. Jim truly treasured time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. Even when his own children were younger, he could be found coaching their respective sports teams as they grew. Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was easy to talk to, loyal, friendly, and always willing to extend a helping hand.

In addition to his wife Jeannette, Jim is survived by his two daughters, Kristin Garland and her husband Mark of Nashua and Karen Koutsavlis and her husband Larry of Auburn, NH; his four grandchildren, Paige Garland, Katie Garland, Gabby Koutsavlis and Zackary Koutsavlis; his four siblings, William Kotopoulis and his wife Carolyn of Nashua, Betty Ann Hayward and her husband Rodney of Nashua, Carol Kotopoulis of Hudson, and Peggy Pollock and her husband Jack of Rowley, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
