Jeannine Tremblay Obituary

Jeannine Tremblay of Nashua, New Hampshire passed away on October 14th 2019 at the age of 79.

Born in Stanstead, Canada on March 13, 1940 to Leopold and Germaine (Moreau) Routhier, she grew up on their family farm until the age of 19.Jeannine married Jean-Guy Tremblay on the 16th of August, 1958 at the Church of St. Bartholomew in Ayers Cliff, Canada. They celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage together. When they moved to the United States, they lived in various locations: Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, finally settling in Nashua, NH.

Jean and Jeannine had four children together and she loved them all deeply. Devoted wife and mother, Jeannine loved caring for those around her. The countless people she encountered throughout her life can attest that she always had time for a chat and with a smile that could light up the room. Her quick wit and humor were her most admired qualities. Known for her tireless work ethic, she was always the first one up in the morning. When her kids were playing hockey, she’d make sure the ice rink in the yard was always smooth. The children never left the house with a wrinkle on their shirt or a mark on their shoes.

When it came to the family and business, Jeannine did it all. Similarly to how they supported each other on the dance floor, by day, she worked endlessly alongside her husband at everything that came their way. No two days were the same. Some days she would join Jean on the construction site, while still managing to get the kids and grandkids to school, sports and other activities. She was a proud business owner, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and member of the community.

Jeannine’s passion for giving was extraordinary. As many know, she found great joy in making and giving her hand knitted hats to children.

Her children recounted some of her passions including: world traveling, waterskiing, stuffed animal collecting, snowmobiling, bowling, gardening and crafting. However, having met her husband at a dance hall in Canada, dancing was by far her most accomplished passion. Each morning they’d often wakeup early to study and practice their choreography. As a couple they went on to win dozens of competitions including two amateur World Championships in Edmonton and Nashville.

Jeannine is survived by her beloved husband, Jean-Guy, her four children, Serge Tremblay and his wife Lynda of Hudson, Lise Tremblay of Nashua, Louis Tremblay and his partner Michelle Zyla of Nashua, and Guy Tremblay and his wife Stephanie of Nashua; her three grandchildren, Timothy Tremblay of MA, Darren Chasse and his wife Sara of MA, and Christian Tremblay of Nashua. She is also survived by her five siblings, Solange Reindeau of Canada, Ronald Routhier and his wife Jean of Nashua, Jean-Marc Routhier and his wife Solange of North Carolina, Denise Tremblay and her husband George of New York, and Norman Routhier and Maxine Routhier of Canada; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Jeannine was predeceased by her sister Giselle Isabel and her brother Guy Routhier.

A special thank you to those friends and family here in Nashua and in Florida who helped make her life so full.
