Obituary

NASHUA:  Joan Steckevicz, 85, of Coliseum Ave and a long time resident of the city, died Wednesday at The Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson after a long illness.

She was born in Nashua on September 12, 1934 and was the beloved daughter of Alphonse and Eleanor (Wollencewicz) Steckevicz.

For many years, Joan worked as a colorist at Isidore's Hair Salon. After Isidore retired, she joined Agnes' on Pearl St.  She ended her working life at Kossman's and later she had a few enjoyable years working part-time at Costco.

She is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews:  Eleanor Tumulty and her husband, Peter, and Maureen Baines and her husband, Robert; Mary Jo and Randy Steckevicz; and James, Peter, and Gary Steck. She also leaves many great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as many devoted friends.

Joan was predeceased by her three brothers, Chester and Edwin Steckevicz and Alfred Steck, her sister, Emma McCaugney, and her nephew, Steven Steckevicz.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joan’s vistiation on SUNDAY, November 24th from 2 until 4 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on MONDAY, November 25th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua.
