John "Jack" West Obituary

John “Jack” F. West, 80, of Nashua, NH died peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022 after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Carol J. (Miller) West with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Jack was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 14, 1942, and was the son of the late Lorimer T. West Jr. and Rita (Norton) Perdue.

Jack had an accomplished HVAC sales career that spanned many years, beginning his career at Selkirk Metalbestos, followed by operating his own manufacturer’s representative business, Design Assistance Corporation in Nashua and finishing his sales journey at Tulikivi, selling beautiful high end Soapstone fireplaces nationally.   Jack enjoyed sales so much that upon retiring from Tulikivi, he was employed as a sales associate at Bob’s Discount Furniture until his “real” retirement at age 75.  Consistently overachieving his sales goals, Jack received many top sales representative awards of which he was quite proud.

Jack was an avid New England sports fan, favoring the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. During his childhood through early adult years, he enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Ipswich, Massachusetts, however, what he enjoyed most was watching his sons compete in sports. Jack was a proud father, grandfather and always worked hard to provide for his family. He loved to make people laugh, often favoring off-color jokes.  As long as Jack got a smile and a laugh in return, he was happy.  He also enjoyed golfing and liked to recycle scrap metal.  Above all, his most cherished times were spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his four children, Cindy Castaldo of Lynnfield, MA, John West, Jr. and his wife Laura of Litchfield, Jeffrey West and his wife Cathy of Hooksett and Michael West of Nashua; his eight grandchildren, Matthew Sochat, Michelle Link and her husband Bryan, Emily West, Colby West, Jacob West, Hayden West, Brenden West, and Kahleigh West; and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul West Sr. and his wife Barbara of Bethany Beach, Delaware, Marcia Wye and her husband Jay of Acton, ME, and Elaine Philbrick and her husband Bruce of Hampton, NH; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his stepfather, Floyd Perdue and his sister Bonnie Niss.
