Joseph R. Arguin

Joseph R. Arguin, 93, died peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Hunt Community in Nashua. He was the beloved husband of the late Cecile (Cognac) Arguin, affectionally known as “my darling” with whom he shared 53 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2005.

Joseph was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on February 24, 1930, and was the son of the late Arthur and Adelia (Croteau) Arguin. He received his education in the Lowell School System.

He enlisted in the United States Army on May 12, 1948 and proudly served his country while being stationed in Europe until he was honorably discharged on December 8, 1951.

For over 20 years, he was employed by Gillette Company as a Line Mechanic until his retirement in 1985.

Joe was an avid and talented wood worker. He created many beautiful pieces for himself as well as his family including furniture, swings, gliders, and tables. He enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook and never missed a long leisurely walk through his hometown of historic Lowell. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, who he loved deeply.

He is survived by his four children, Roland Arguin, Nancy Arguin, Dennis Arguin, and Jeanne Landry; his seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Noella Paquette.

In addition to his wife, Cecile and his parents, he was predeceased by his five siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph’s graveside service and presentation of military honors on FRIDAY, October 27th at 11 AM. At the Lowell Cemetery 77 Knapp Ave. Lowell, MA. Joseph and Cecile will be interred together. Arrangements entrusted to the care of ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
