Kathleen A. "Taffy" Colby

NASHUA- Kathleen A. “Taffy” Colby, 66, died peacefully, Saturday, September 26, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

Kathleen was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 15, 1953 and was the beloved daughter of the late Arnold and Eleanor (Mahoney) Hemphill.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading, listening to audio books, and playing card games. Taffy truly had a sweet tooth and found a love for candy and ice cream. In her younger years, Kathleen would enjoy gardening. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family. 

Kathleen is survived by her four children, Diane O’Berry and her husband Pete of York, PA, John Colby and his wife Sonya of Hudson, Roger Colby and his wife Tabitha of Hudson, and Jamie Gosselin and her husband David of Nashua; her fifteen grandchildren, Nathaniel, Sean, Erin, Katelyn, Patrick, Connor, Zachary, Tyler, Karis, Jantzen, Serena, Jedidiah, Lily, Alexia, and Emily. She is also survived by her three siblings, Victoria Hemphill-Johnston and her husband Steve of Cresswell, Oregon, James Hemphill and his wife Julie Thompson of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Kim Hemphill and his wife Wendy of Nashville, Tennessee; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Taffy will also be dearly missed by her lifelong friend, Cindy Brown.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Colby. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Kathleen’s WALK THROUGH visitation on FRIDAY, October 2nd from 6 until 8 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will be held on SATURDAY, October 3rd at 10 AM in Collinsville Bible Church, 2075 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will take place privately in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathleen’s name to a choice of one’s local charity or to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North,Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034.
