Kenneth "Ken" Johnson Obituary

Kenneth Evan Johnson, 75 of Hollis, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oak Park, IL.

Ken moved to Nashua at age 13 where he attended Nashua schools. He graduated from Lowell Technological Institute in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering and subsequently was awarded a master’s degree in Plastics Engineering from the University of Lowell in 1980. He was employed by the Gillette Company for 32 years and rose to the level of Project Engineer where he designed molding systems for plastic razor and blade parts. Upon his retirement from The Gillette Company, he started his own business to continue bringing new technology to the plastics industry. He was a career-long member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and was awarded several patents for his inventions.

Ken was an avid snowmobiler and four-wheeler and was a founding member of the Nor'Easters Snowmobile Club, and a member of the Lone Pine Hunters Club. He worked with the Hollis Trails Committee to maintain the local trails for recreational use.  Ken and Vivian had a great love of travel and did so extensively. They enjoyed exploring our national parks and taking in the beauty of America. Above all, Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and friends the most.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Vivian, Ken is survived by; a son, Stephen Johnson and daughter-in-law, Amy of Boscawen, NH; a daughter, Melissa MacQuarrie and son-in-law, Robin of Goodlettsville, TN and two granddaughters whom he adored and who knew him as "Papa", Emma Johnson and Charlotte "Charlie" MacQuarrie. He is also survived by three sisters, Nancy Zeloski and her husband, Richard of Moultonborough, NH; Beverly Fontaine and her husband, Timothy of Nashua, NH; and Janet Davidson and her husband, Michael of Plymouth, NH. In addition to several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents George and Virginia Johnson and two brothers, Kevin and Arthur Johnson.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Ken’s life.
