Kevin F. Dooley

Kevin F. Dooley, 78, died peacefully at his home on Friday morning, June 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Julia (Doyle) Dooley with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Kevin was born in South Boston, Massachusetts on February 8, 1946 and was the son of the late Frances J. and Helen (O’Brien) Dooley. He received his education at St. Brigid’s Parochial School and graduated from South Boston High School with the class of 1963 and graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with his associate’s degree.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 1971.

For 41 years, Kevin worked as an operations manager for Verizon New England until his retirement in 2006.

Kevin was a man of deep faith; having served as an altar boy in his youth at St. Brigid’s Parish in South Boston, a CCD instructor for many years and parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker parish in Nashua, NH.

One of Kevin’s true passions was singing with his brothers as a founding member of “The Dooley Brothers”, performing Irish songs around Boston, all of New England and even taking their talents across the pond to Ireland. He was an avid Boston Sports fan but the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox were his favorites. At every wedding or celebration, you would find Kevin out on the dance floor, enjoying himself and showing off his talented dance moves. Above all, he loved to be in the comfort of his home surrounded by the people he loved the most, his family. He will be remembered for his wonderful ability to tell a story or to land a good joke. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

In addition to his wife, Julia, he is survived by his children, Kevin Patrick Dooley of TN, Christopher Dooley and his wife Alyson of Holden, MA, Laurie McCarron and her husband Shawn of Chelmsford, MA, Meaghan Delage and her husband Matthew of Bristol, CT, Siobhain Klassen and her husband Nick of Merrimack, NH, and Colleen Konyha and her husband Christopher of Dover, NH. He will be fondly remembered by Edward and Rosalind. He was the proud Pa to his grandchildren including, Maridian, Caitlin, Anastacia, Rory, James, Hayley Isabelle, Alysia, Aibhlin, Cara, Jack, June, Emma “Frannie”, and Julian; his younger brother Robert Dooley and his wife Susan of Quincy, MA; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Dooley of Quincy, MA; and his sister-in-law, Peggy McDonagh and her husband Mike of Canton, MA; his sisters-in-law and their families in Ireland, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his five older siblings, Joan and her husband Tom, Francis “Fella”, Nancy and her husband Howie, Billy, Patty and her husband John.

Relatives and friends are invited to Kevin’s visitation on MONDAY, July 8th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on TUESDAY, July 9th at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. His interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. Kevin’s family invites those who attend, to celebrate Kevin’s life by wearing a pop of red, as it was his favorite color and symbolizes his deep love for his family and friends.
