Kristi Cunha

BOSTON- Kristi Marie Cunha, 43, of Nashua, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. Over the last three years Kristi had battled cancer three times- Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), breast cancer and most recently a recurrence of MDS.  She endured countless chemotherapy treatments, surgery, a stem cell transplant and stem cell boosts.  

Kristi was born in Nashua on December 19, 1976, to Ronald Cunha and the late Diane (Larose) Cunha. In addition to her father, Ronald and his wife Lorraine of Nashua, she is survived by her sisters, Jennifer Cunha of Manchester and Emily Cunha of Merrimack; her brother, Timothy Cunha and his wife Tara-Lynn of Nashua; her niece Aubrey; her nephew Tyler. She is a proud dog mom to Taylor, her German Shepherd.

Kristi had been employed by the Nashua School District for the last 10 years as a special education teacher and case manager at Nashua High North.  Prior to receiving her bachelor’s degree from Rivier, Kristi was child care and preschool teacher.  While working towards her degree, Kristi was the receiver for JC Penny’s.

Family and friends were of the utmost importance to Kristi.  She was well known for her strength and caring heart.  She was always willing to support and lend a helping hand, even while fighting her own battle with cancer. In addition to her family, Kristi leaves behind “Kristi’s Krew” an extensive network of friends and co-workers, led by her dear friend Christine Lavoie of Bedford, NH. 

Lunder 10 at Massachusetts General Hospital had become Kristi’s second home.  The doctors, nurses and staff of MGH hold a special place in the family’s heart.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Kristi’s name to Caring for a Cure to support other’s fighting cancer at MGH.  www.caringforacure.org 

Relatives and friends are invited to Kristi’s visitation on SATURDAY, February 29th from 10 AM until 12 Noon at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
