Leon Barry, son of the late Francis and Mildred (Reid) Barry, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on December 15, 2025.
He was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School and in 1965, he had the good fortune to marry the lovely Georgette Pinette and their adventures began. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.
Leon was one of the founding fathers of the Nashua Glass company in NH, which was established in 1967. He dedicated over 45 years to the growth and excellent service to the greater Nashua area. He was active in CYO, YMCA, Rotary Club of Nashua, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Council No. 13026). He enjoyed reading Baldacci books, kayaking at his Merrymeeting Lake house, spending time at Hilton Head with his siblings and their spouses, and was a competitive, passionate game player—although he would often say “it’s only a game!”
Family was extremely important to him, and he was instrumental in organizing Barry Reunions that reconnected multiple generations so that the stories and history of loved ones could be passed down over the years.
His memory lives on through his beloved wife, Georgie, his sister Phyllis Poulin and her husband Bill, brother Gerald Barry and his wife Rita, four grandchildren: Stephen Viens and his wife Linda, Meghan Barry, Jessie Perry and her husband Jake, and Crystal Sprague and her husband Brian, and three great-grandchildren: Kent Perry, William Colon, and Lucas Sprague.
We will miss his banana pancakes, shopping trips to BJ’s, sense of humor, curiosity to discover adventures on the road less traveled, generous heart, and his BIG smile that lit up his whole face. We love you Leon/Uncle/Grampie!
Relatives and friends are invited to Leon’s visitation on TUESDAY, December 23rd from 10-11 a.m. at ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI PARISH, 9 Saint Francis Way, Litchfield. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. His interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 95 Old Bedford Road, Bedford.
