Lorraine R. Garneau

NASHUA- Lorraine R. (Berube) Garneau, 84, died peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Garneau who predeceased her on March 30, 2019. 

Lorraine was born in Nashua, NH on October 21, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rose (Morrissette) Berube. 

For many years, she was employed as a cook for the Nashua School System at the Ledge Street School until her retirement. 

In her free time Lorraine loved video games, playing two of her favorite games, Final Fantasy and Spyro especially with her grandchildren. Lorraine was very talented in knitting and always enjoyed making new gifts for her family. In her younger years, she would thoroughly enjoy camping with her family spending many camping trips at Goose Hollow camp ground in NH.  She spent many years traveling with her husband Bill in their motor home spending winters in Florida and South Carolina and even a trip cross country with her brother Lenny and friend Giselle to Las Vegas. Lorraine was her children’s number one fan, volunteering for lunch duty at St. Louis School when her kids were young and heavily involved in the St Louis Parish CYO and Nashua Bucks Pop Warner football organization.  After retirement Lorraine enjoyed attending the weekly Tuesday morning breakfast with a group of very close friends, visiting many different restaurants and diners. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family who will miss her dearly.  

She is survived by her six children, Debra Tong and her husband Alan of Loris, SC, Philip Garneau and his significant other Colleen Tyler of Hudson, Donna Bechard of Nashua, Mark Garneau of Nashua, Kenny Garneau of Nashua, and Paula Belanger and her husband David of Nashua; her ten grandchildren, Joshua Tong and his significant other Crystal Smith, Kristen Tong, Aimee McQue and her husband Chad, Jennifer Durkee and her husband Mike, Jessica Clark and her husband Michael, Katie Garneau, Adam Bechard and his wife Nicole, Johnathan Bechard, Corey Belanger and his wife Kaily, and Ashley Dunn and her husband Drew. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; her brother Leonard Berube of Nashua and several nieces and nephews. 

Lorraine was predeceased by her son-in-law, Marc Bechard. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine’s Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, January 9th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.  Arrangements entrusted to the care of ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
