Lorraine Jeanne Sorel

Lorraine Jeanne Sorel, 95, died peacefully at her home in Otisfield, Maine on Friday, January 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 9, 1927 and was the daughter of the late William and Laurette (LaBranche) Lemire. She received her education in the Lowell School System.

For many years, she worked as a self employed hairdresser and then later was employed by Sanders/Lockheed until her retirement.

Lorraine was a member of the Secular Franciscans and St. Anthony Fraternity. She was a lifelong devout Catholic, attending mass regularly at St. Louis de Gonzague Church and St. Joseph Church, both of Nashua. Over her life, she has spent numerous hours praying. Above all, she cherished her time spent with her family who she deeply loved.

She is survived by her four daughters, Ann Goulet and her husband Raymond of Manchester, Constance Sorel of Otisfield, Maine, Claire Turner and her husband Donald of Lake Wylie, SC and Lucy Stoddard and her husband Michael of Nashua. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lorraine was predeceased by her son Paul Sorel, her sister Pauline Russell and her husband Walter and her brother William Lemire.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine’s visitation on THURSDAY, February 2nd from 3 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on FRIDAY, February 3rd at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Cremation will follow and interment will take place at a later date in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
