Marie Josephine (Mottola) Daley

Marie Josephine (Mottola) Daley, 98, died peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Bridges by Epoch in Nashua. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Daley Jr. who predeceased her on July 6, 1998 prior to sharing 50 years of marriage.

Marie was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 17, 1927 and was the beloved daughter of the late Jerry Archangela (Jannino) Mottola. She received her education and attended Bentley College.

For many years, she worked within the credit union in St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Marie was a talented and passionate cook whose love for the kitchen brought her family together. Her Italian dishes, especially her famous red sauce, were a staple at the cherished Tuesday night family dinners that everyone looked forward to. In her younger years, as a devoted military wife, she traveled the world—visiting Europe, the United Kingdom, and many other destinations—gaining experiences that shaped her strong, independent spirit. Above all, Marie found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She was a loving presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always putting their happiness and well-being at the heart of everything she did.

Marie is survived by her daughter Angela Humphrey of Nashua; her four grandchildren, Dylan Humphrey, Jesse Humphrey, Tyler Humphrey, and Casey Humphrey; as well as her three great-grandchildren, Riley Humphrey, Ava Humphrey and Amelia Murphy.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Edward, she was predeceased by her son Edward H. Daley III; her great-grandson, Dash Douglas Humphrey; as well as her siblings, Angelina Mottola, Joseph Mottola, Michael Mottola, and Albert Mottola.

Relatives and friends are invited to Marie’s Funeral Mass on SATURDAY, August 23rd at 10 AM at St. Joseph the Worker the Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Her interment will be held in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery alongside her husband.
