Mario F. Medeiros, 79, died peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Maria H. (Rocha) Medeiros, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Mario was born in St. Michael, Portugal on October 17, 1945, the son of the late John and Eduarda Medeiros. Mario attended his school age education in Portugal and proudly served in the Portuguese Army prior to immigrating to the United States in 1977, settling his family in Hudson, Massachusetts.
While living in Hudson, MA., Mario nurtured his small business skills, collaborating with his wife to own and operate a local corner store, a proud accomplishment and successful immigrant story. Mario never forgot his roots and love of the outdoors, animals, fishing and nature, he cherished the memories he made while living in Portugal and loved to share and reminisce these stories with those he loved most. He truly missed the beauty, peace, and simplicity that the countryside offered him in his younger years.
A most fond and proud memory, achieved with his wife, was implementing the establishment of the Catholic Portuguese Church on Palm Street in Nashua which eventually merged with St. Louis de Gonzague Church. Mario and his wife worked diligently to help create a beautiful space for their faith and community.
In addition to his wife Maria, Mario is survived by his six children, John Medeiros, Louie Medeiros, Carla Medeiros, Carlos Medeiros, Ana Rocha, and Jimmy Medeiros; his stepchildren, Angelo Pimental, Margarita Pimental, and Maria Pimental; and was loved by all his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mario is also survived by five siblings, John Medeiros, Fernando Medeiros, Manny Mederios, Eduarda Medeiros, and Isuara Medeiros as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mario’s visitation on MONDAY, February 17th from 5 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on TUESDAY, February 18th at 10 AM at St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. His interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
