Mary Brown Obituary

Mary Ellen (Quinn) Brown, 79 a long-time resident of Nashua, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Thomas J. Brown with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Mary Ellen was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on May 14, 1946, and was the daughter of the late James Joseph and Elizabeth Eleanor (Smith) Quinn. She received her education in Massachusetts and graduated from Cambridge Latin High School. She continued her education, attending Panama City College in Florida.

Earlier in her career, she was employed by St. Joseph Hospital for 10 years and most recently, she worked as a secretary for Dartmouth Hitchcock for 20 years until her retirement.

In her free time, Mary Ellen found joy in the simple pleasures she loved most. She was an avid reader, always eager to lose herself in a good book, and she shared a deep love of travel with her husband; together they explored countless destinations, including twenty-one cruises side by side. Even with all of her adventures, the moments she treasured most were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride, laughter, and love.

In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her four children, Karen Wilson of Dunstable, MA, Laurie Francis of Nashua, Natalie Campbell and her husband Danny of Lawrenceville, GA, and James Joseph Brown of Merrimack; her eight grandchildren, Amy Watson and her husband Robert, Sarah Odom and her husband Kyle, Stephen Francis, David DupreWilson and his wife Laura, Sean Francis, MacKenzie Arroyo, Ronan Brown, and Tommy Brown. Mary Ellen is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren; her sister Patricia Marks of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her son‑in‑law Richard Wilson and her brother Carl Johnson.
