Matthew Lowe Obituary

Matthew James Lowe, 35, passed away peacefully on November 15 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his family. Born in Nashua on September 26, 1990, Matthew was the beloved son of Andrew and Sandra (Stevens) Lowe.

Matt, as he was known to friends and family, spent recent years living in Europe, exploring the world, visiting loved ones, and connecting with his heritage. Matt’s eagerness to explore and spend time with family spread around the globe brought him to far off places like the mountains of Thailand, the great barrier reef in Australia, the Swiss alps, and the sunny beaches of Portugal, just to name a few.

Matt was known as a kind individual, with a profound sense of humor, and a sharp, witty intellect. He had a deep connection with music, dragging friends along to shows whenever they were willing. He also had an encyclopedic knowledge of bands, games, movies, television, and podcasts, making him the go-to individual for recommendations, critiques, debates, and trivia.

Those that knew Matt also knew of his love for sports, with many of his friendships forged on the field, on the ice, or in the gym. His competitive nature and desire to win helped drive his teams to success and brought him immense joy throughout his life. In the same vein, Matt was a life-long supporter of Liverpool F.C, greatly enjoying their glories over the years, and visiting Anfield whenever the opportunity presented itself.

You’ll never walk alone, Matt.

As a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Matt held a degree in Civil Engineering, a common Lowe occupation, and dearly enjoyed his years in Durham, where he developed long-lasting friendships and a thoughtful world view. After college, Matt took pride in his time working as an engineer at Maple View Sugarworks and Leidos.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Chelsea Lowe, of Nashua; his nephew Graham; his niece Clara; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and his Golden Retriever, Izzy.
