Maurice L. "Moe" Marquis

Maurice L. “Moe” Marquis, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Maria (Coccoro) Marquis with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Moe was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on September 15, 1943 and was the son of the late Oscar “Pete” and Armance (Legasse) Marquis. He attended elementary school at Sacred Heart Academy and was a graduate of Nashua High School.

Moe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He faithfully served until receiving an honorable discharge, carrying throughout his life the values of patriotism, integrity, and commitment that defined his military service.

Moe dedicated more than 40 years of his career to Bronze Craft, where he worked as a skilled machinist until his retirement.

In his free time, Moe enjoyed collecting baseball cards and took great pleasure in the hobby throughout his life. He generously volunteered many seasons as a coach for track and cross country at Nashua High School, mentoring and encouraging student-athletes from 1988 until 2015. Moe also enjoyed taking leisurely walks and found comfort and peace in the quiet surroundings of his home. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his family, whom he loved deeply and who remained the center of his life.

In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by his three children, John Marquis and his wife Jaine of Nashua, Danielle Long and her husband Jeff of Bedford, and Michelle Brodeur and her husband Robert of Nashua; and his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two siblings, Ron Marquis and his wife Denise of Nashua and Cecile Bird of Hollis; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Marquis and his wife Jeane; his granddaughter Sydney Long; and his brother-in-law, Larry Bird.

Relatives are invited to Moe’s graveside service and presentation of military honors on THURSDAY, June 18th at 2 PM in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 W Hollis Street, Nashua.
