Michael Rahilly Campfield, 70, died peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He is the beloved husband of Karen (Reardon) Campfield with whom he shared 21 wonderful years of marriage.
Michael was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 23, 1951, and was the son of the late Justine (Rahilly) and John Bariahtaris. He attended Lawrence Vocational Technical High School and was a graduate with the class of 1970. He was educated at Northern Essex College and Harvard University.
He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged. Michael started his career with Londonderry Police Department and after 3 years served the next 23 years of his career with the Salem Police Dept. During that time, he worked with his beloved K-9 partner Flory. Flory, who has predeceased him, was his best canine friend. He always had Michael’s back.
Among his 15 awards he received over his career, he was most proud of receiving “Police Officer of the Year”.
In his free time, Michael loved to spend time outdoors, especially golfing, skiing, and hiking with his wife, Karen. He had a love of racing, and many sports. He especially loved cheering for the Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, and Cincinnati Reds. His hobbies include attaining knowledge of any WWII History and model trains. Michael was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed obtaining his dual citizenship in Ireland.
Michael loved to travel but his trips to York Harbor, Maine were immensely special to him. He would simply sit in his green chair taking in the scenery. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, especially time with his grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his wife, Karen, his five children, Michael “Mick” Campfield and his wife Devon of Naperville, IL, Gordon Campfield and his wife Kari of Valley Center, CA, Brad Beaulieu and his wife Angela of Santa Cruz, CA, Doug Beaulieu of South Carolina, and Sara Beaulieu of Nashua; his six grandchildren, Kyler Campfield, Sydney Campfield, Delilah Campfield, Gordon Campfield, Jameson Campfield, and Melania Campfield; as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to Michael’s visitation on MONDAY, November 22nd from 1 until 3 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
