Michael D. Simek, 72, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Diane Lecomte, with whom he shared ten wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Nashua on February 9, 1953, Michael was the son of the late Claire (Landry) Groves. A true New Hampshire native, he attended the Nashua School System and spent more than three decades as an HVAC technician with BAE Systems, where he was known for his skill, dedication, and easygoing spirit.
Michael was a gentle soul who found beauty in life’s simple things — the sound of birds in his yard, the freedom of a Harley ride, and the comfort of a good cup of Dunkin’ coffee. He lived a life of quiet kindness, always ready to help others and share a smile. His love for animals was deep, and his loyalty to family and friends unwavering. Those who knew him will forever carry with them the warmth, steadiness, and quiet strength that made him so special. His laugh — bright, contagious, and unmistakably his — could turn an ordinary moment into one worth remembering.
Michael is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Michael N. Simek (Michelle), John Simek (Teri), David Lecomte (Kristin), Catherine Lecomte Lecce (Rick), and Theo Lecomte (Zachary Daggett); and his beloved grandchildren, Samantha & Olivia Simek, Bodhi Lecce, and Bridget Lecomte. He also leaves his siblings, Donna Carvella (Tony), Doug Simek, Jacqueline Althiser, and Michelle Gutliph (Peter); his best friend, Dick Barker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Simek.
At Michael’s request, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua at hsfn.org.
