Paul Gauvreau Obituary

Paul Francis Gauvreau, 91, of Hudson, NH passed away after a period of declining health on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.

Born on January 6, 1934 in Lowell, Massachusetts, Paul was the son of Joseph H. Gauvreau and Ethel (Custer) Gauvreau. He was married to his wife, Amy L. Torcomian for 37 years, until her passing on April 15, 2009.

As a young man, Paul was a drummer in his brother's band. Using his drumming skills, he became a Russian Code Breaker for the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

After his time in the Air Force, Paul graduated from Lowell Technical College with an Engineering Degree. He was hired the first day after graduation by Raytheon Corporation as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, working there in different facilities for many years until his retirement.

In his spare time, Paul was a lifelong collector of antique horse carriages and a founding member of The American Carriage Association. He was extremely knowledgeable about New England history and ran his own website, NewEnglandHealingServices.com. Paul also loved his horse Taggie, and running his tractors on his beautiful Hudson property.

Additionally, his faith in God was evident in all he did. Paul discovered a lost cemetery in Hudson, NH and had it preserved for eternity. He was also a past member of The Rivier Prayer Group for many years.

Paul is survived by his son, Matthew B. Gauvreau and his wife Tammy of Florida, and his granddaughters, Madisyn Gauvreau of Florida and Ellie Bragdon of Maine. He also leaves behind his niece, Lisa Gauvreau Ring of Westford, MA, and her children, Jack and Harry Ring; as well as his nephews, Robert (Bob) Gauvreau Jr. and his wife Kathy, and Richard (Rick) Gauvreau; a close cousin, Paul James of Florida; and Paul's devoted companion Carolyn Aho.

In addition to his wife, Paul is also predeceased by his brother, Robert J. Gauvreau, formerly of Lowell, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to Paul’s visitation on FRIDAY, October 10th from 9:30AM-10:30AM at ST. KATHRYN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson. His Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30AM.
