Philomena Rita Blackler, 1960 - 2023
Phil as she was known to her family and friends passed away peacefully at her home in Nashua, NH on October 3, 2023. Phil was born in Glens Falls, NY on June 21, 1960 to Michael Blackler Sr. and Geraldine (Smith) Blackler then of Bolton Landing, NY. Phil grew up in the Greenfield/Peterborough area of New Hampshire and graduated from ConVal High School in 1979.
As an LNA, Phil spent most of her career working at Crochet Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH. She also lived for 5 years in Santa Cruz, CA working with the handicapped. Phil loved helping and caring for people, she loved animals and photography.
Our dear sister Philomena had a very challenging adult life as she suffered with mental health related issues. Phil is survived by her brother Michael Blackler Jr. and his wife Alison of Oak Harbor, WA, and by her sister Elizabeth (Blackler) Brotherton of Chelmsford, MA. Phil also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A graveside ceremony will be held for Philomena at the Center Cemetery in Bedford, NH opposite the Presbyterian Church on Church Road on October 14th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phil’s name to the New Hampshire Disability Rights Center, 64 N Main Street, #2, Concord, NH 03301.
