Rachel Symonds Obituary

Rachel L. Symonds, 43, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of, January 8, 2024 at her home. Rachel’s greatest joy was being home snuggling on the couch with her three children, Andi, Evelyn and Lucas.

Rachel was born on January 18, 1980 to Kim (Gourley) Slatton in Manchester, New Hampshire.  During Rachel’s childhood she was guided by her very close relationship with John Slobuszewski, Penny Gomm, the late Rick Gomm, Tammy and Warren Curtis.

Rachel spent her childhood in Manchester, Weare and Nashua, New Hampshire where she made countless memories with her siblings and friends. Rachel attended school in Manchester and Nashua, ultimately graduating from Nashua High School South.  After graduating high school Rachel attended River University where she achieved an associate degree in Accounting.

In her earlier years, she was employed as a server at the Ground Round, where she met her beloved husband Nick Symonds with whom she shared 14 years of marriage. After the Ground Round closed, Rachel continued with her passion of providing customer service in the food industry and worked at Texas Roadhouse for many years.  Most recently, Rachel was employed as a quality technician for Amphenol Printed Circuits.

Rachel would be described by family and friends as friendly, outgoing and a lot of fun to be around.  Her laugh was infectious, and she always enjoyed a good joke. Recently, Rachel found pleasure in coaching youth soccer, and was able to coach her daughter’s team. In her free time Rachel enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her children.

In addition to her husband, Nick, she is survived by her three children, Andi Hanks, Evelyn Symonds, and Lucas Symonds; her siblings, Warren Curtis Jr., Natasha Estabrook, Megan Curtis, Angel Slobuszewski, and Tonya Slobuszewski. Rachel was preceded in death by her brother Ray Curtis. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Don and Sandi Symonds; lifelong friends the Adams Family; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family members.
