NASHUA- Rene Leo Othot, 81, died peacefully at Fairview Nursing Home on Friday, December 18, 2020. He is the beloved husband of Carol (Baker) Othot with whom he shared 15 years of marriage and 25 years together.
Rene was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on June 12, 1939 and was the son of the late Maurice and Yvonne (Blanchette) Othot. He received his education in Concord, Vermont Schools and graduated from Nashua Senior High School in 1957.
For many years, Rene was employed as a retail manager at 20 Century and more recently at Bright Spot until his retirement.
In his free time, he enjoyed traveling; twice to Europe as well as trips to the Caribbean, Alaska and across the USA. Rene also enjoyed wood working and loved to play golf. Rene was an avid football fan especially a fan of the New England Patriots where he was a season ticket holder since 1986. In his younger years, he played for his high school basketball and baseball teams in Concord, VT. However, his most cherished time was spent with his loving family.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Rene is survived by his three sons, David Othot and his wife Joyce of Merrimack, John Othot and his wife Maureen of New Boston, and Jeffrey Othot of New Durham; his six grandchildren, Gordon Othot and his wife Michelle of Merrimack, Andrew Othot and his wife Courtney of Nashua, Stephan Othot of Bedford, Mark Othot of Nashua, Seamus Othot of New Boston, and Taoighan Othot of New Boston; and his two great-grandsons, William and Owen Othot. He is also survived by his three siblings, Richard Othot and his wife Jane of Hudson, Terri Stratton and her husband Lee of Nashua, and Michael Othot and his wife Roberta of Lancaster; his stepsons, Jason Westcott and his wife Laura of Bedford and James Labombarde of Hudson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rene was predeceased by his stepdaughter Tammy Labombarde.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rene’s WALK THROUGH visitation on MONDAY, December 28th from 4 until 6 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His graveside service and interment will take place on TUESEDAY, December 29th at 10 AM in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 W Hollis Street, Nashua. KINDLY MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
