Richard R. Kenney

Richard “Dick” R. Kenney, 87, died peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille A. (Provencher) Kenney who predeceased him on May 10, 2018.

Dick was born in Nashua on February 22, 1935 and was the son of the late John and Janet (Desjardins). He received his education in the Nashua School System and was also a proud member of the National Guard.

For many years, he was employed as a chemical handler at Nashua Corporation until his retirement.

In his free time, Dick enjoyed watching television especially “Below Deck”, MTV and tennis, listening to music, and dancing. He will forever be remembered for his ability and desire to hold conversations with anyone and everyone. Dick resided in a community for over 60 years where he enjoyed interacting with the wonderful people in his neighborhood. He had a colorful sense of humor and had a wonderful gift of being able to make people smile or laugh through his stories and conversations. He was a lifelong parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and a proud member of the choir.  He also enjoyed camping and was an avid local sports fan. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his loving family.

Dick is survived by his three children, Michael Kenney of Nashua, Steven Kenney and his wife of Michelle of Nashua, and Sharon Kenney of Cape Coral, Florida; his four grandchildren, Christopher Kenney and his wife Lindsey of Manchester, Nicole Wilson and her husband Jason of Little Rock, Arkansas, Alexander Kenney of Manchester, and Sarah Kenney of New Jersey; as well as his great-granddaughter, Norah Wilson.

In addition to his wife, Lucille, he was predeceased by his son Robert Kenney and his daughter-in-law, Noreen Kenney.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dick’s visitation on THURSDAY, April 14th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua.
